Tsatsu Stalqayu (Coastal Wolf pack) Opening Ceremony

Tsatsu Stalqayu, Coast Salish People;  Teaching our children the songs, dances, and stories will keep our traditions alive for generations to come.

Tsatsu Stalqayu (Coastal Wolf Pack) formed in 2010 around the Vancouver Winter Olympic games.  Since then, the group has performed at many events, including at the Four Host First Nations Pavilion and the Athletes Village at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival (various), the University of British Columbia Commencement and Graduation Ceremonies, the Museum of Anthropology and the Talking Stick Festival.  Comprised of one family, Tsatsu Stalqayu proudly promotes Coast Salish culture through the songs and dances it performs and the carving and textile arts it practises.  In recent years, Tsatstu Stalqayu has, with Mortal Coil Performance, been adapting Coast Salish stories into theatrical presentations seen throughout the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh.

Come see them perform in our Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, May 30 at 11:30am in the Activity Village
