PINOY FESTIVAL: WE RISE 2025

National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

Celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day at Grandview Park!
Begin your day with the Celebration Walk, meeting at 11 AM at the Vancouver Aboriginal Community Policing Centre Society (1719 Franklin Street) and walking together to Grandview Park—drums and regalia welcome!
Once there, enjoy an afternoon of cultural performances, an Indigenous Market, and special presentations hosted by Josiah Amaya, with a welcome from Chief Bill Williams.
Presented by Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society, Vancouver Aboriginal Community Policing Centre, SAGE Nation, Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society, and Britannia Community Services Centre.

Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) is back at Stanley Park’s Malkin Bowl with two iconic crowd-pleasers that are pure summer magic! Catch Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Legally Blonde: The Musical from June 27–August 16, 2025, under the open sky.

O Canada Day! on Granville Island

O Canada Day! returns to Granville Island on Monday, July 1, with a full day of family-friendly fun, music, and cultural celebration!
Festivities begin bright and early at 7:30 am and take place throughout the Chain & Forge outdoor event space and across Granville Island. The day is packed with entertainment, including live performances from artists like Curtis Clear Sky & The Constellationz, Supersonic Hearts Band, Shawn Bullshields, and Gargarin Life. Families can enjoy face painting, pick up free Canada flags, and take part in public salsa lessons.
Don’t miss the Canada Day Ceremony at 1:00 pm, featuring greetings from the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations, followed by the national anthem sung by Roan Shankrunk and free cake courtesy of Dockside Restaurant. It’s a celebration of music, community, and culture for all ages!
Early risers can catch the charming False Creek Ferries Ballet at 8:30 AM, and families can explore the Indian Residential School Survivors Info Booth, Latincouver’s Papel Picado craft station, the Kids Market celebration, or cool off at the Granville Island Waterpark.
With local food vendors, artisan markets, circus acts, and a full stage lineup from indie folk to jazz, Canada Day at Granville Island promises a joyful mix of art, music, culture, and community spirit. View the full schedule of events.

Vancouver Folk Music Festival

The Vancouver Folk Music Festival returns for its 48th fabulous year, July 18–20, 2025 at Jericho Beach Park!
This year’s lineup is a vibrant mix of global sounds—from the genre-blending cello of Cris Derksen (ON), to the electrifying energy of Les Mamans du Congo x Rrobin (Congo/France), and the hypnotic grooves of Bab L’ Bluz (Morocco/France). Local faves Ocie Elliott (BC) bring indie folk warmth, while Ye Vagabonds (Ireland) and The Langan Band (Scotland) are perfect for those drawn to traditional roots.
Bring the whole family! The Little Folks Village returns with kid-focused performances, crafts, storytelling, Redbird, the Nylon Zoo, and more. Kids 12 and under get in free. Plus: artisan markets, hands-on artist workshops, delicious food vendors, and all the sunshine-soaked vibes of a beachside festival. Early bird sales end Wednesday, June 18.
