The Adopt a Class program is an integral part of the Vancouver International Children’s Festival’s Community Outreach Programs and helps us to ensure accessibility to our cultural programming for all children regardless of social or economic circumstances.

This school outreach program provides featured performance tickets, return bus transportation and all-day access to our hands-on arts activities for school groups from enhanced support through school outreach across Metro Vancouver that would otherwise be unable to attend the Festival.

The Adopt a Class program enables children to experience arts activities and, often for the first time, live performances – all of which can have a lasting impact on children and teach them that music, arts and culture are an important part of life. The need for the adopt a class program is reinforced each year with the wonderful letters we receive from students and teachers expressing their heartfelt thanks to their donors.

We believe all children deserve the opportunity to see live performers, experience the thrill of artistic experimentation and be an active part of their communities. Help make lifelong memories for children in need!

Testimonials

Thank you for funding the wonderful day to the children’s festival. Many of my children would never have the opportunity to attend an event like this. The kids loved every aspect of the day from the bus ride, to the adventure park, to the show right down to the special snacks their parents packed for their lunches.

Many of my students would never have this opportunity otherwise. It was so rewarding to see them enjoy this beautiful experience! The show was captivating for students, and our favourite thing was the indigenous artist drawing for us so we could colour it in collaboratively. It is still displayed in our hall and admired by all the students every day!

This was the first time some of our students had ever attended a live theatre performance and what a blessing for it to have been one that focuses on Indigenous knowledge, sustainability and the interconnectedness of all things. This was a treasured moment for our students and a beautiful opportunity to connect them to the arts of Vancouver.
