Take the Stage and Shine: Youth 4 Youth Stage

February 14, 2017

The Festival’s Youth 4 Youth Stage provides an opportunity for volunteer youth performers (ages 8 to 20) to showcase their talent and experience performing in a professional setting.  By participating in the Festival (May 29 – June 4, 2017)  they inspire other youths to partake in artistic endeavours and build a sense of ownership and pride by helping to shape their own “Children’s Festival”.

Artistic performances can include, and may not be limited to: vocals, dance and instrumental, ranging from soloist to large groups of varying levels of experience. Please spread the word to all talented youths and teachers coordinating young performers and encourage them to apply! Time allotted for each performance is flexible with a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes.

The performance venue is our covered outdoor stage at the Picnic Pavilion at the Festival site on Granville Island. We have a sound system with microphones and a professional sound technician to assist with your performance. However, please note that we cannot provide any instruments for the performers. All instruments and props must be provided by the artist or performing group.

We have a specific theme day during the festival, called FrancoFun Day (Thursday, June 1st) that offers a perfect opportunity for any performers with a French language repertoire or for any Francophone performers to showcase their talents on the Youth 4 Youth Stage.
