Busker Festival

Magicians, 3-D street artists, acrobats, and guitar sensations from around the globe convene in Vancouver for one spectacular week to dazzle and amaze citizens and visitors.

This wonderful summer event features free, first-rate lunch-time concerts. Mark July 27th in your calendar when the spectacular Ache Brasil hits the stage, a sure-fire hit for the kids.

All Over The Map

Ron Basford Park, Granville Island
This free all-ages outdoor arts and cultural event includes local dance and music with roots from all over the globe. Don’t miss Kokoma African Heritage Ensemble, and Dancers of Damelahamid.

Public Dreams’ lluminaries Lantern Festival
Saturday, July 21, 6 pm; procession at 9:45 pm
Trout Lake, John Hendry Park
Don’t miss this community celebration of the light within us. You’ll see magnificent lanterns, outrageous stiltwalkers and gorgeous puppetry. Join the procession with your own lantern creation.


Carousel Theatre Teen Shakespeare
July 27 to August 11, 7:30-9 pm
The outdoor stage at Performance Works on Granville Island. 
Shakespeare’s magical adventure will be performed by an ensemble of teen actors from across Metro Vancouver.


Powell Street Festival
August 4 & 5
Powell Street
This annual celebration of Japanese Canadian arts, culture and heritage features dance, music, film and video, visual arts, martial arts demos, amateur sumo tournament, crafts, traditional displays,
and scrumptious Japanese food.
