The Vancouver International Jazz Festival
The Jazz Fest may not be specifically geared to children but this year, kids and parents can boogie all weekend long to live music at Robson Square (June 23, 24) and David Lam Park (June 30, July
1).
All Over The Map
This wonderful, free all-ages outdoor arts and cultural events includes exhilarating local dance and music with roots from all over the globe. This year’s lineup includes Vancouver Cantonese Opera,
Kokoma African Heritage Ensemble, and Dancers of Damelahamid. Takes place at Ron Basford Park on Granville Island.
Vancouver Folk Music Festival
This perennial family favorite celebrates its 35th year and pulls out all the stops with some of music?s hottest names from around the world including Lucinda Williams, K?NAAN, Ani DiFranco, Dan
Mangan, The Head and the Heart, The Johnny Clegg Band, Mali?s Sidi Touré, Mozambique?s Wazimbo & more.
Powell Street Festival
This annual celebration of Japanese Canadian arts, culture and heritage features something for everyone: dance, music, film and video, visual arts, martial arts demos, amateur sumo tournament,
craft vendors, traditional displays, and of course, tons of scrumptious Japanese food.
