Shake off the winter blahs at Granville Island?s Winterruption. Catch a few of this year?s Children?s Festival events including global rhythm sensations, Kutapira; a fun-filled sock puppet workshop;
and the stunning Vancouver 125th Anniversary Cube. It all takes place Feb 25 and 26 on Granville Island. See you there!

Feb 25 and 26: 3-3:30 pm, Location: Picnic Pavilion
Get the whole family dancing to this energetic, upbeat ensemble that merges traditional Zimbabwean marimba music and the rhythmic soul of Afro Cuban drumming. Watch these vibrant young musicians
rotate through their battery of soprano, tenor and baritone marimbas and trade licks on the drum kit, timbales and hand drums.
Sock Puppet Workshop
Feb 25 and 26: 10:30-4:30 pm, Location: Kids Zone, Cartwright Street
Learn how to create art out of your old socks! Sock puppets have universal appeal and can be made quickly and safely with children or all ages, even the wee ones. Join puppeteer Maggie Winston as
she guides participants through the steps to make sock puppets. All materials supplied; just bring your imagination and creativity.

Vancouver 125th Anniversary Cube
Feb 25 and 26: 10:00-5:00 pm, Location: i.e. Creative Studios, Railspur Alley
Join Cheryl Hamilton and Mike Vandermeer of i.e creative artworks to see what the 3-D version of 125 looks like now that the Vancouver 125th Anniversary Cube is complete. The cube was painted by
children attending the 2011 Vancouver International Children’s Festival and will be on display outside i.e creative’s studio in its finished form.
