Meet our Associate Producer

Here is a Q&A with the super-organized Lucie Lareau, our bilingual Associate Producer.
How long have you been with the festival and what exactly do you do?
I?ve been with the Festival since February 2001. I cover many areas related to production and programming of the Festival. I look after the main stage including selecting the companies,
performances, and doing follow-ups with the artists. I look after all the logistics for the main stage shows as well as selecting the roving artists and the many free arts activities. I coordinate
from the beginning to the end all the animation, supplies and performance services.
What traits do you need to do your job?
You have to be very detail-oriented, flexible, and have well-developed problem-solving skills.
What?s the best thing about your job?
I like the variety of its nature, the creativity, and the fact that has an important impact on the society. It?s very rewarding.
What do you do for fun in your spare time?
I go to concerts, cook, try new restaurants and go to the movies.
What?s the most unusual thing you know how to do?
I have an appreciation for unusual music.
What artistic talent you have? What talent do you wish you had?
I have a very good ear and highly developed rhythm. I can sing and dance but I wish I could play an instrument.
Name a place you go to be inspired?
I?m a water person so anywhere by the ocean especially Italy or Cuba.
Name three things you love about your neighbourhood.
It?s multicultural, close to Main Street, which is a very funky part of town.
What?s your favorite Children?s Festival memory?
Les Frères Coulibaly as part of The Variety Show stands out for me. These visiting African artists joined the local African artists, and I loved seeing how they enjoyed being together. It was an
amazing and magical event.
