Canada Day Festivities
June 25, 2012

Canada Day promises to be a glorious day (okay, fingers crossed). Here are some of the top local festivals.
Granville Island
Free jazz performances courtesy of Coastal Jazz and Blues Society, face painting, roving characters, tattoos, a parade, and more, this is a birthday bash that everyone can enjoy!
Canada Day at Canada Place
Canada Place hosts Downtown Vancouver’s biggest Canada Day celebration with a Waterfront Party that includes live music and entertainment on three stages, followed by the annual Canada Day Parade.
Steveston Salmon Festival
This delightful historic fishing village in Richmond is a short hop from Vancouver. Its annual Canada Day and Salmon Festical attracts over 70,000 each year so get there early! The festival
includes a parade, craft shows, cultural events, and Steveston’s famous salmon barbecue, where over 1200 pounds of wild salmon filets are grilled over open fire pits.
Georgia Straight – Best of Vancouver
If you are participating in the Best of Vancouver, don’t forget to vote for The Vancouver International Children’s Festival as Best Performing Arts Festival.
