Shadow Puppet Workshop for Youth, April 14

April 07, 2013

The R2R Festival celebrates all things lunar at their Opening Night Gala on April 12, which kicks off with Moon Man
, a beautiful animated feature, followed by a party with live music and an interactive, space-themed Mere Phantoms installation
in the Atrium of the Vancity Theatre.

Mere Phantoms, a Montreal-based collaborative studio, will create an intricate ?stage set? of paper cut-outs that will be installed by suspending giant projection screens inside the atrium.
Audience members will be invited to add pre-cut 3D shadow puppets and their own shadows to the installation using Mere Phantoms? custom hand held lights set to a backdrop of live audio of
Vancouver-based sound artist Paul Bennett. Then watch the installation grow over the weekend.

Attend the gala!
